World Art Dubai is back for its sixth edition. This will also be the region’s first massive art event of 2020. This massive retail art fair will showcase an impressive collection of more than 3,000 artworks from renowned galleries and solo artists from more than 30 countries, uniting galleries and artists from around the world, each with their own unique take on art. Right from famous names to rising stars, emerging Emirati artists, pop-art icons and fashion art disrupters, to experimental expressionists and fine art and photography practitioners, the art exhibition is a melting pot of different artistic styles. Keeping in-line with the accessible and affordable ethos, price tags start from $100 (Dhs367) upwards, making it to be affordable to buy some art.

Visitors can take the chance to roll up sleeves for live painting sessions, curated art talks and creative learning workshops with the region’s most recognised artists. Art enthusiasts can expect art activations, art performances, dance workshops and more. Fans will be able to get your garb customised with unique designs from expert artists. As always, international artists will be descending upon Dubai for the fair, including French-Tunisian sculptor Idriss B. Famed for his limited-edition animal sculptures, distinguished by their life-size proportions and polygonal forms, his pieces have been featured across major destinations in Dubai, including DIFC and the Palm Jumeirah.

Presented in partnership with Rove Hotels, World Art Dubai is also be bringing back its Emerging Artists Prize and Exhibition this year. The event is designed for up-and-coming artists, the competition is being held under the theme “Across Cultures’”, which celebrates the UAE’s diverse population, and serves as a tribute to the much-awaited Expo 2020 Dubai. With more than 550 submissions received, 20 participants have been shortlisted and the winner will receive a stand at World Art Dubai 2021, while the runner up will receive a three-month exhibition space at one of Rove Hotels in Dubai, plus an overnight stay.
The event will follow strict standards of health and safety precautionary measures including social distancing and contactless transactions.
Art exhibitions, both internationally and locally have been the most important point for acquiring new buyers, which is the largest concern of art dealers and galleries reporting to annual survey.
