The region’s largest cultural festival is returning for its eighth edition in December with a brand-new roll call of artists from around the world. Get ready for two days and three nights of SOLE DXB, a celebration of everything from fashion and music to art and sport. This is one of Dubai’s longest-running festivals and every year thousands of music and fashion fans head along to d3 to check out the latest in street wear, street art and top live music. Back for 2019, with it being announced that Sole DXB will be returning to d3 in December.
Famous as the hip weekends of the winter, Sole DXB festival combines some of the coolest street culture relevant to the region today. The event will take place between Thursday December 5 and Saturday 7, there’s little that’s been revealed in terms of music line-ups so far. 2018 saw the regional debut live performance from hip-hop icon Nas, as well as acts from the US, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
A few top clothing, footwear and sporting brands from around the world put on massive activations, games, tournaments, separate live music performances and more – including from the likes of Nike, Adidas, Puma and more. It also brought the iconic gold crown worn by Biggie Smalls – the Notorious B.I.G. himself – as an extra bonus, with visitors able to recreate the album cover.
This year, leading American car brand Cadillac are the lead sponsor. There will be more basketball tournaments, more concerts, more food trucks, loads of movie screenings, and sneakers are going to be organised.
