A lot to admire, the creative
use of geometry, space and colour in Rashid Al Khalifa’s fine and ever-evolving work at his solo exhibition at Ayyam Gallery. To commence in January, ‘Hybrids’ will feature wall-mounted installations from six series of the Bahraini artist’s works from 2010 to 2017.
After experimenting with realism, impressionism, and individualism, Al Khalifa will take a more contemporary approach for his recent work with elements of abstract art and colour field. His unique installations are generally hybrids of painting and sculpture where he creates three-dimensionality using aluminium, stainless steel and other elements. to present Hybrids, a solo exhibition by Rashid Al Khalifa. Hybrids will present a selection of wall-mounted installations from six different series from 2010 to 2017.
Well-known and talented painter, Rashid Al Khalifa was the first president of the Bahrain Arts Society. He has doe solo shows in Jordan and Italy and has showcased his work in group exhibitions around the world, such as Issoudin Museum, Issoudin, France; La Biennale di Venezia, Venice, Italy; and Galerie Gmurzynska, Art Basel Miami Beach. Over the past four decades, Rashid Al Khalifa’s works maintains a focus on the aesthetics of re-contextualisation in an art genre. He investigates articulates seriality within his oeuvre, as well as geometry, surface, and colour, the artist
creates simple yet deeply resonant works.
