NYU Abu Dhabi launches a virtual culture program for Ramadan – The new programme is part of The Arts Center’s ‘Reconnect’ series.
NYU Abu Dhabi and the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has joined hands with Al Burda, a platform for Islamic arts and culture to launch an exceptional virtual program for Ramadan 2020. The programme is prepared with four events, all of which consist of contemplative works to suit quiet evenings at home. The content aspires to allow those participating to embrace the spirit of reflection during Ramadan, has been created by The Arts Center and features a curation of performances from its archives.
Every Wednesday at 21:30, starting this week on Wednesday April 29, the platform will stream a show on Facebook to accommodate Isha and Taraweeh prayers with a celebration of contemporary Islamic arts from the Al Burda Festival. The durational performances to adapt to Ramadan schedules can also be found. The new program is a branch of NYU’s ‘Reconnect’ series, which was introduced to encourage the community in the capital to abide by the government’s stay home initiative whilst giving them a platform to enjoy arts and culture virtually.
