A stage adaption of the classic childrens’ book will be organised at Dubai Opera. Le Petite Prince – or The Little Prince for the non-linguists among us – is all set to be showcased at the UAE.
The childrens’ book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was published in both English and French in 1940, has been adapted for the stage. Coming to Dubai Opera in January, this classic story is all set to be presented with a twist. Although The Little Prince has been adapted to several art forms and media, including audio recordings, radio plays, live stage, film, television, ballet, and opera, this new version is being presented through contemporary dance and acrobatic movement. With video mapping technology, audiovisual poetic immersion, stunning choreography, aerial straps, video projection and flying poles, it turns spectacular. The story is about a grown-up meeting his inner child, embodied by a Little Prince. Gliding through the clouds, an aviator lands his plane in the middle of the desert and gets to meet the Little Prince walking on a sphere, flying from one planet to another, trying to find his sheep. An omnipresent narrator accompanies the Little Prince on a journey includes many characters he comes across along the way.
