“GAIA aims to showcase the core elements of Grecian culture.” The place combines warm hospitality with intricate details and alluring aspects. GAIA creates a journey of discovery for clients in each and every visit. The place entices the explorer within.

The food on the tables are spread with generosity, plates filled with flavours. Curated by culinary experts Chef Izu Ani and Chef Orestis Kotefas, the GAIA menu combines traditional flavours,

fresh ingredients and the simplicity of home cooking. Each dish showcases the true essence of Greek-Mediterranean cuisine. Inspired by Mediterranean culture, GAIA blends history and design to create a relaxed and inviting ambiance.  The atmosphere is spectacular at GAIA and the location in DIFC’s vibrant restaurant. The fish market; the bar is buzzing and large groups of people can be seen enjoying. The price is slightly on the higher side. The team along with the waiters have good understanding of the food and can lift food to another level. Chef Izu’s Lighthouse in D3 with subtle herbs and citrus notes brings their fish dishes alive. Serving harmonious flavours, skillful plating, GAIA offers a gastronomical experience.

“Mediterranean

dining is such an inspiration to me,” said chef Izu. “Tables filled with generosity, and plates filled with flavour. Sharing courses of simple recipes enhanced with fresh herbs and spices. I have spent a lot of time in Greece, completely immersing myself in the environment, so that I can fully understand its roots.

“I found that, in Greek tradition, food is so much more than sustenance, it’s about culture, family and love. We have infused this theory throughout each part of GAIA, from the menu to the details and design, so that it is reflected within the ambiance.”


The chef is now a partner of Bulldozer Group – the team who also brought 1 Oak and Seven Sisters to Dubai. Chef Izu, who is famed from his time at some of the city’s top restaurants including La Serre and award-winner La Petite Maison, also has an eatery in City Walk – Izu Bakery and Brasserie. He opened up branch of Izu Bakery at The Dubai Mall. He launched stunning new Mediterranean restaurant carine at Emirates Golf Club. carine named after chef Izu’s wife, sits in the space that previously housed Le Classique.
