Al Marmoom Heritage Village Opens Showcasing Emarati Culture

The first

weekend at Al Marmoom Heritage Village witnessed a large number of visitors from all nationalities as it opened its doors to public on March 29.

Families and tourists are enjoying being treated to a number of cultural shows and activities on the side-lines of Al Marmoom Camel Race Festival, one of GCC’s sporting highlights of the year. Emarati cultural activities are the centre of attention for most western visitors with many interactive cultural options offered by the village. Along with it,  diversified cultural dances and shows added to the festive ambience that left visitors from all ages very pleased on their first visit.

and Head of Marketing and Events at Al Marmoom Camel Race Festival said the opening weekend witnessed a good combination of residents and tourists. “The Al Marmoom Camel Race Festival is an important fixture in UAE’s sporting calendar and the inclusion of the Heritage Village makes the event a must-visit. Over the years, the Heritage Festival has drawn tourists who have the opportunity to get an authentic insight into Emarati culture. I would like to thank our sponsors that have supported us and made this concept of showcasing Emarati culture possible.”

In 2018, more them a hundred small shops and kiosks are being organised to recreate a carnival like setting in addition to traditional dance shows from Oman, India, and Africa. Another highlight of this years festival is the Year of Zayed exhibition. It is a tribute to the founding father of the UAE giving visitors an insight into the visionary life and times of the late Sheikh Zayed.


The Heritage village will continue to welcome visitors from 16:00 to 22:00 daily till 12th April. Platinum sponsors of this year’s Village are Emaar and Al Tayer Motors. Al Futtaim Motors is Gold sponsor and AW Rostamani Arabian Automobiles is Silver sponsor. The annual Al Marmoom Heritage Festival has a lot more to offer than before. Along with the camel races, visitors get to enjoy a larger, improved market that is on offer at the Al Marmoom Heritage Village. The management team has taken feedback and suggestions into consideration and made a lots more choices for shoppers and added activities. There are enriching elements of the diverse culture within the UAE, that contribute to a fun carnival-like atmosphere. Visitors can check out the cultural dances, traditional bands and wedding scenes.

The Al Marmoom Heritage Village is preparing to offer residents and tourists a glimpse of the UAE’s heritage and culture when it opens its doors from March 20 this year. Last year had witnessed thousands attend the venue. The Village, organised in collaboration with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority,

is considered a one-stop shop for everything relating to UAE heritage. Camel racing is an integral part of the ‘khaleeji’ culture and it has many significant increase in the number of tourists to the races. The Heritage Village was set up for visitors to explore the Emirati way of life through handicrafts, cuisine, mock weddings, and music.

Al Marmoom Heritage Village is all set to be open to the public and will complement the festive celebrations across Al Marmoom during the annual camel race.
