Dubai's on-going infrastructure projects seek to create an environment that encourages trade and investment, according to Engineer Abdullah Al Shaibani, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality for Technical Services Affairs.

Addressing the UAE-South Korean Forum on Trade and Investment in Seoul, Al Shaibani highlighted the remarkable features that make Dubai the most sought-after global investment and business destination. Outlining the city's cosmopolitan outlook and geographical traits, he explained the vision behind Dubai's spectacular growth and the future growth plan chalked out by Dubai Municipality.

At the forum, titled "Investment and Infrastructure," Al Shaibani explained the measures undertaken by the municipality to cope up with the challenges Dubai is facing in its transformation as the most vibrant business and tourist centre in the region. "The Dubai Municipality is keeping pace with the all-round progress, development, welfare, and prosperity that prevails in the city," he said.

During a tour of the Dubai Municipality Pavilion, Jeong Gong Park, Mayor of Goong Kontri, expressed thanks to the municipality for participating in the exhibition.

Engineer Salah Amiri, Director of Dubai Central Lab, and Engineer Abdulhakim Malik, Director of IT Department at the Municipality, gave presentations on the municipality's efforts to serve society in a better manner, in addition to the infrastructure projects currently being implemented by the municipality.

Mayor Park invited the Dubai Municipality to take part in the Goong International Conference running from June 10-12. Salah Amiri thanked the mayor for his invitation, and presented him with a book on Dubai in appreciation of his visit.

The pavilion, visited by a large number of VIPs from both public and private sectors, was commended for the information and materials it showcased.

All information on the municipality and its activities were displayed at the pavilion. These include its efforts in supporting the initiatives and efforts being made to improve the living conditions in the emirate.

The achievements of the emirate's civic services authority in boosting investment and the development projects were also demonstrated.

Other information showcased included statistics and figures about Dubai in the fields of construction, development, transport, communication, water, business, electricity and water, communications, health, education and environment.
