Asscom joins Airbus logistics centre in Dubai

Asscom Middle East, a subsidiary of the Hamburg, Germany based Asscom aeronautic support services GmbH has opened an avionics and electronics repair shop at the Airbus Material and Logistics Centre in the Dubai Airport Freezone.
Apart from the repair facility, the Asscom office includes warehouse facilities for the storage of aviation and systems manufacturers’ spare parts.
The service centre is GCAA and EASA certified and started its operation on June 1, 2009. All aspects of OEM product support needs, from parts distribution and 24/7 emergency spare parts supply to warranty and commercial repairs are handled.
Asscom managing director Peter Wiggers said: “We are happy and enthusiastic to be on board here at the Dubai Airport Freezone. For Asscom, it is a great opportunity to provide our services from Dubai – a spot offering so many unequalled opportunities.
“With our new service station we are able to provide outstanding customer support services on-site, to both airline customers and OEMs in the regions Middle East, Africa and India.”
Present during the inauguration were representatives from airline customers, equipment manufacturers and authorities from the Dubai Airport Freezone.
