Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) was one of the pioneers in using various e-Services aimed at speeding up and facilitating transactions so that customers' time and effort are saved, while reducing overcrowding at the DNRA counters.

DNRD eServices has achieved great progress during the last few years; with customers preferring to use such services, especially as, several technical developments have also taken place. eDNRD is a website where customers can login, choose the type of Entry Permit they wish to apply for, fill out the form, post the form and print out the visa.

The Department of Naturalization and Residency in Dubai, was established in 1971 and is divided into twelve sections, six of which are located within its premises and each section has specific duties. These sections are as under:

Naturalization and Passports Section
The Naturalization and Passports Section handles all transactions for Nationals, such as the issuing of Family books, Passports and other relevant documents.

Entry Permits Section
The Entry Permits Section issues visas of various types, including those of residence, visit, employment and housemaids.

Residency Section
The Residency Section undertakes the responsibility of issuing the residence permit.

Investigation and Control Section
The Investigation and Control Section is concerned with public transactions such as Status change, determining people on Overstay and Closing of records.

Administration and Finance Section
The Administration and Finance Section manages human and financial resources and is also concerned with the issue of Establishment Cards for private companies and representatives of other organizations, and other relevant financial transactions for these services.

Information Technology Section
The Information Technology Section is responsible for the development of the computer applications that are required for the Department's activities. Section personnel also update programs in use by the department, to meet the latest developments in the IT field. In addition, the IT staffs are responsible for the supply of software and hardware to other sections.

The other six sections of the Department are located around Dubai and in neighboring areas. These are Dubai Airport Passports Section, Rashid Port Passports Section, Shindegah Port Passports Section, Jebel Ali Port Passports Section and Hatta Passports Section.
