Dubai Country Club is the oldest
club in the Emirates.
Dubai Country Club is proud to host the first ever golf course
in Dubai. In 1971 history was made, as its 9 hole sand course
was ready for the first swing & putt! The club now boasts
two sand courses offering a unique golfing experience for
beginners & seasoned grass players alike.
The Al Awir course has 18 holes with an exceptional
layout of 6,346 yards. The course is a challenge to both professionals
and amateurs alike, with the unique experience of carrying
your own piece of 'fairway' with you. Although it is a sand
course, there are water hazards and bunkers to be carefully
negotiated.
The shorter 9-hole Creek Course also has an interesting
layout ideal for beginners & juniors
The 'browns' are the putting surfaces and are regularly
brushed to keep the smooth surface that arguably has a truer
roll than grass.
Dubai Country Club has always been host to Dubai's Men's
Open. The Open Golf Championship is Dubai's oldest championship,
dating back to 1976. It is open to both Professional and Amateur
Golfers holding a handicap of 9 or less and is played over
36 holes on 2 consecutive days. Over the years, the Championship
has attracted the cream of golfers from the UAE, the Gulf
region and internationally. |
