Dubai is a very busy place, so do the airports here. With the number of air travelers rising everyday, the airports in Dubai are also becoming busier than ever. Airport Dubai is a very prominent airport situated just 4 kms away from the main city.
With three passenger terminals, Airport Dubai offers very good passenger convenience. Check-in is as easy as eating and breathing. Mainly used by Low cost airlines, this airport is a busy hub for domestic, international and transcontinental flights.
The airport has very good parking facility. Other facilities available at the airport include Currency Exchange, Luggage Lockers, Left-Luggage Office, Baby Changing Facilities, Play Area and Free Internet Access.
The Dubai International Airport is one of the most spectacular airports in the Middle East. Situated three miles south east of the Dubai city centre, the airport currently operates over 100 airlines. Millions of passengers pass through it every year.
This airport is the hub to Emirates, Dubai’s international airline. It also serves as a secondary hub to Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways. Apart from these, other airlines like Air Blue, Iran Air, Royal Jordanian. British Gulf International Airlines, Air India, Biman Airlines, Jubba Airways, Pakistan International etc. operate their regular flights from the Dubai International Airport.
The airport operates flights from Dubai to Europe, South America, North America , East Asia, South Asia, Australasia, Southwest Asia as well as to Africa. Dubai International Airport will be complemented by Al Maktoum International Airport, a new airport which is under construction right now. Located near Jebel Ali, the airport has been named after the former ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
This airport will be about ten times larger than Dubai International Airport and Dubai Cargo Village if both combined. Keeping future in mind, Al Maktoum International Airport proposes to handle all the next-generation aircrafts including the A380 super-jumbo. The airport will be able to help land up to four aircrafts simultaneously, 24 hours a day thus minimizing in-air queuing.
